The Holistic Approach: Guiding Principles
Health Meditations
Health Information for Body, Mind and Spirit
A Holistic Approach to Health
First, do no harm.
It is not my goal to give medical advice. My goal is to share practical information that
people can use to work with their doctors to maximize their health.
A holistic approach to health addresses the whole person: body, mind and spirit.
You must care for your body, your mind and your spirit to walk a holistic path to health.
The body has an inherent ability to heal itself.
Your body is a complete system and it strives to stay whole. With a holistic care
approach, you can optimize your body’s ability to heal itself and remain healthy.
A holistic approach is all about good stewardship.
A steward holds assets in trust for a beneficiary. You're the steward who has been
entrusted with managing your body, mind and spirit. You are also the beneficiary. Your
choices determine whether you help or hinder your body's ability to heal and stay healthy.
The role of a holistic doctor is to teach.
The word "doctor" comes from the Latin verb docere, which means to teach.
My goal is to teach people what they need to know to participate fully in managing and
maintaining their health.
There are two kinds of people:
- Those who are part of the Body of Christ. They need to be healthy to complete
their respective assignments as part of the Body of Christ.
- Those who are not yet part of the Body of Christ. They need to be healthy so that
when they become part of the Body of Christ they are prepared to complete their
respective assignments.
1 Corinthians 10:31
“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
Anything you do that harms your body, your mind or your spirit does not glorify God.
